The Willibald-Gluck Highschool in Neumarkt, Oberpfalz installed a CellCube energy storage system to optimise energy consumption
The Willibald-Gluck Highschool in Neumarkt, Oberpfalz was equipped with the very latest energy technology. A modern thermal insulation concept with a high-quality building envelope, a state-of- the-art ventilation system with heat recovery and CCTC as well as a comprehensive ventilation concept with daylight-dependent lighting characterise the building.
For power supply a PV system was installed on the roofs of the school and the gym. The electricity generated by solar energy is used directly in the building or, for example on weekends, stored in the CellCube FB 30-130 energy storage system. Surpluses continue to flow into the public grid. Thus, the CellCube is used primarily for self-use of electricity.
Photovoltaics and storage technology are important components of the project and the energy turnaround in general. For this reason, the BMWi (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) honored the school for their pioneering work and awarded them the "Energy-Efficient School" prize (see http://www.bmwi.de/DE/Presse/pressemitteilungen,did=639472.html).
