GILDEMEISTER energy solutions at European Utility Week 2015

From November 3rd to 5th 2015, the European Utility Week took place in Vienna, Austria. With around 10,000 representatives from the smart energy sector and 420 exhibitors it is a big platform for the energy industry. During the three-day event, the market developments of the industry - from the integration of renewable sources up to smart metering and smart cities - were discussed.
GILDEMEISTER energy solutions was present with an own booth, as well as with a presentation on the topic “upcoming flow battery applications for the utility world”.

This year GILDEMEISTER energy solutions also offered an exclusive customer event during the exhibition. 50 selected customers from the energy sector got the opportunity to visit the vanadium Vanadium is a chemical element with the symbol V and atomic number 23. This steel-grey, bluish shimmering transition metal is mined as ore and used mainly in steel construction. Vanadium can be recovered as a by-product of energy production from coal-fired power plants and by burning heating oil. It is non-flammable, providing high level of safety and, thanks to its full-reusability, has a high residual value. redox Red stands for reduction = gain of electrons, while Ox stands for oxidation = loss of electrons flow storage production site in Vienna. Three stations were prepared in the production building: one station explaining the CellCube FB 200-400, one the smaller brother CellCube FB 10 20 30 and one for the stack development. The visitors could discover the different production stages and inform themselves about technical details. Special importance was given to the development of the stack unit since the beginning of the CellCube production, as well as to the latest features of stack units and inverters. In batteries and battery packs, electrolyte is the medium that transports the ion between the anode and cathode and generates ions for charge balancing. , which changes its color depending on the oxidation level, also arouse great interest.
