CellCube installation at the Autoservice Demmler

Together with the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau the Autoservice Demmler is implementing the project “local electric mobility from a single source to the future”. The project is part of an initiative of the German federal government with the aim to familiarise people with the topic of e-mobility. Autoservice Demmler offers the possibility to rent electrical vehicles in order to experience e-mobility. Conventional vehicles are available when there is a need to travel larger distances.

At Autoservice Demmler the power supply for the e-vehicles is achieved through renewable energies with two photovoltaic systems and a thermal power station. The CellCube FB 30-130 with a power output of 30 kW Kilowatt (kW) is a unit of electrical power (energy consumption over time), 1 Kilowatt is equal to 1,000 watts. and a storage capacity of 130 kWh A kilowatt hour (kWh) is the amount of energy equivalent to powering one kilowatt (1 kW) for one hour (1 kW x 1 hour). Accordingly, there are megawatt hours (1 MWh = 1000 kWh) gigawatt hours (1 GWh = 1000 MWh = 1 million kWh) and terawatt hours (1 TWh = 109 kWh = 1 billion kWh). 1 kilowatt hour of electricity is equivalent to 17 hours of light from a 60 watt bulb. is used in order to take on the excess capacity form the renewable energy production.

Based on the Vanadium-Redox-Flow technology the CellCube allows for a clean, zero-emission and fast energy supply. It offers the optimal solution to provide uninterrupted power provision, e.g. in combination with renewable energies.
